Abstract

The Vietnam-China border area is home to many ethnic minorities belonging to different language groups and cultural diversity. Among these minorities, there are many ethnic minorities have migrated from the South of China to live stably and develop steadily in the territory of Vietnam. These ethnic groups are also maintaining and developing cross-border relations with people of the same and different ethnicities on the Chinese side. Also in this area, in recent years, the relationship between ethnicity and religion is appearing and forming more and more clearly the ethnic-religious community, which is mainly Protestant in a part of the Mong, Dao… ethnic groups. Besides, the relations of the ethnic groups on both sides of the border have also developed comprehensively and deeply, of which the most prominent is cross-border livelihood and marriage activities. These relationships have stalled due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the last three years. The above matters are urgent issues that need to be studied in depth from a specialized and interdisciplinary perspective to contribute scientific and practical bases for the planning and implementation of appropriate, effective policies consequences for ethnic minorities living in Vietnam border areas.
