TRENDS OF CULTURAL CHANGE OF KHMER THERAVADA BUDDHIST MONKS TODAY (RESEARCH IN KIEN GIANG PROVINCE, TRA VINH PROVINCE AND CAN THO CITY)

Abstract

Cultural change is a process, thereby, changing the patterns, community activities to adapt to current life. When the material conditions are increasingly rich and diverse, as science and technology become more and more modern, cultural change in general is inevitable. The article focuses on the study of changes in material culture of Khmer Theravada Buddhist monks (referred to as monks) in the following aspects: Food, clothing, travel and residence.
