ENSURING HUMAN RIGHTS IN DEVELOPING, PERFECTING AND IMPLEMENTING SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT POLICIES IN ETHNIC MINORITY AND MOUNTAINOUS AREAS BY 2030

Abstract

Ensuring human rights is one of the basic contents, recognized and protected in international documents and laws of contries. Vietnam is a member state of the International Convention on human rights, the Vietnamese State has issued many policies, strategies and legal documents to ensure human rights. In particular, ensuring the rights of ethnic minorities in Vietnam has always been an issue that attracts the attention of both the State and society; especially this has been done through the Constitution, many important viewpoints, guidelines and socio-economic development policies of our Party and State. The article focuses on assessing the current situation and proposing solutions to ensure human rights in developing, perfecting and implementing socio-economic development policies for ethnic minority and mountainous areas by 2030, contributing to the implementation of the country's sustainable development goals.

ECONOMIC RELATIONS ON THE INLAND BORDER SIDE BETWEEN ETHNIC MINORITIES IN THE BORDER AREAS OF VIETNAM - CHINA

Abstract

The history shows that the relationship between ethnic minorities in our country has had its ups and downs, however it is harmony, unity and working together to build and defend the Fatherland remains the main theme. In the current Vietnam-China border area, the trend of association, dependence, and mutual assistance in economic relations further tightens the great solidarity bloc among ethnic minorities in the inland border area. These relationships are becoming an important, necessary and inevitable source of social capital for ethnic groups in border areas. However, this research has shown that, in the process of transition to the current market economy, new relationships are emerging between ethnic groups, negatively affecting local social order, border security and defense as well as the tradition of solidarity, mutual assistance and sharing.

AWARENESS OF GENDER EQUALITY AND URGENT ISSUES OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN ETHNIC MINORITY AND MOUNTAINOUS AREAS

Abstract

Based on the initial survey results, Project 8 “Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children” chaired by the Vietnam Women’s Union is one of 10 projects under the National target program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period of 2021-2030. Within the scope of the article, the authors clarify the current awareness of gender equality among cadres, civil servants, public employees, prestigious people and community members, at the same time identify urgent current issues for women and children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
